Measured Response: Biden to Putin - April 2022

This is the first piece I created attempting to illustrate a stimulating event (left canvas) and a measured response (right canvas). I worked within a 6” grid , mirroring the sculpture on the left with the same sculpture on the right, as I made the assumption that a measured response would create something symmetrical and beautiful, like a butterfly’s wings. But during production I realized I was wrong. This work doesn’t account for the time to emotionally, intellectually and psychologically digest and contemplate prior to responding (and what that might look like), nor does it account for the particular type/intensity of stimulus. The investigation is ongoing.
